Job Description

Company Overview

We are partnering with a well-established audio-visual integration company serving commercial and hospitality clients across the Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah markets. The team designs and engineers AV, sound, and room control systems for hotels, resorts, and other commercial spaces throughout the coastal Carolinas and Georgia region, working with platforms including Crestron, BIAMP, Symmetrix, and QSC.

The company is investing in its technical team during a genuine growth period, with hospitality demand accelerating across the region and a strong pipeline of commercial AV projects already coming in.

Why Join Us?

• Make a Real Impact — As a key technical hire, you'll have direct input into shaping design standards and standard operating procedures, not just execute someone else's playbook.

• A Team That Wants to Learn From You — Leadership is actively looking to grow its own AV expertise and wants someone who genuinely enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge rather than gatekeeping it.

• Close Collaboration with Sales and Leadership — You'll work directly alongside the sales team and company leadership on a regular basis, with a real seat at the table.

• Room to Grow Beyond Design — Beyond system design work, there's room to take on project management and product procurement as time permits.

• A Genuinely Easygoing Culture — Join a small, relaxed, collaborative team where the day-to-day is easygoing rather than high-pressure.

• Remote Flexibility with Real Connection — This is a remote role with periodic travel to the Charleston office and project sites, so you get flexibility without losing the relationship-building this team values.

Job Overview

The AV Systems Designer will be the technical backbone for design and engineering across the team's commercial and hospitality projects. In this role, you'll take project requirements, site conditions, and client goals from initial scope through to a complete, buildable system design, including drawings and bills of materials ready for the field team to install and quote. You'll work closely with the sales team and company leadership, serving as the go-to technical resource for both.

This is a remote position with periodic travel to the Charleston, SC office and active project sites for collaboration, client walkthroughs, and team connection. Beyond system design, you'll have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities such as project management and product procurement, and to help shape the company's design standards and standard operating procedures as the team grows.

The ideal candidate is easygoing and collaborative, comfortable working independently while staying closely connected to the team, and genuinely enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge with others rather than gatekeeping expertise.
